Privacy Policy for Share My Pint

Last updated: July 16, 2026

1. Introduction

Share My Pint is operated by John Brandauer ("we," "our," or "us"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the mobile application (the "App") processes, why it is processed, which service providers receive it, and the choices available to you.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Personal Information

We may collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when you register for the App, such as:

  • Username and optional profile name
  • Email address
  • Date of birth (for age verification)
  • Profile picture
  • Bio

2.2 Usage Data

We may collect information about your activity within the App, such as:

  • Beer posts (images, ratings, descriptions)
  • Comments and likes ("Cheers")
  • Follower/following lists
  • Check-ins at venues
  • Direct messages

2.3 Payment Information

The App can let one user send fixed-amount, voluntary direct support to another user through Stripe Connect. Apple Pay and Google Pay may be offered by Stripe as payment methods where available. Direct support does not buy chips, currency, content, status, a badge, or any other digital feature, and Share My Pint does not deduct a platform commission from the support amount.

Stripe processes payment credentials and, for recipients, identity, business, tax, bank-account, and payout information required for Connect onboarding. Share My Pint does not receive or store complete payment-card numbers. We store payment records needed to operate and secure the feature, including the sender and recipient, amount, currency, related post, Stripe payment and charge references, status, dispute or refund references, and timestamps.

Digital chip purchases, paid digital supporter benefits, business promotion purchases, in-app wallet balances, and user-initiated cash-out flows remain disabled. If paid digital features are introduced, the applicable store billing, terms, privacy labels, and disclosures must be updated before release.

2.4 Device Information

We process device and request information needed for security, age assurance, notifications, and diagnostics, including:

  • Device model
  • Operating system version
  • A device identifier used to remember the 21+ age-verification result
  • IP address and user-agent information recorded with age verification
  • Push-notification tokens if notifications are enabled
  • Crash, stack-trace, app-session, and performance diagnostic context in production

2.5 Location Data

With your permission, we may collect location data to:

  • Show nearby pubs and breweries on the map
  • Enable check-in features at venues

Location is processed only when you use a location feature and grant permission. Nearby-venue and name searches can send the coordinates supplied by the device and the venue search text to Supabase and to one of the public OpenStreetMap Overpass endpoints used by the App. The selected Overpass operator also receives ordinary network request metadata such as the requesting IP address. A venue check-in or presence is shared with other users only according to the App's visibility controls.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide and maintain the App
  • Manage your account
  • Verify your age for legal compliance
  • Support account, safety, data export, and account deletion workflows
  • Facilitate social interactions (sharing posts, following users, messaging)
  • Improve the App's functionality and user experience
  • Send you administrative notifications (push notifications, if enabled)
  • Detect and prevent fraud or abuse
  • Comply with legal obligations

4. Data Sharing and Third-Party Services

4.1 Third-Party Service Providers

We use the following third-party services:

  • Supabase (Database & Authentication): Stores your account data securely. Privacy Policy
  • AI image analysis: This capability is disabled in release 1.2. The App does not offer the Ask Bartender control, and the release backend rejects analysis requests before reading an image or contacting an AI provider.
  • Google Maps (Location Services): Powers the pub and brewery map. Privacy Policy
  • OpenStreetMap Overpass operators (Venue Search): Public Overpass instances receive nearby-search coordinates, venue search text when supplied, and ordinary request metadata. The App currently tries overpass-api.de, overpass.kumi.systems, and maps.mail.ru in sequence when an earlier endpoint is unavailable. Service information
  • Apple Sign In / Google Sign In: For authentication. Subject to Apple/Google privacy policies.
  • Stripe Connect (Direct Support Payments): Processes voluntary support payments, Apple Pay or Google Pay payment credentials where selected, recipient onboarding and verification, connected bank information, payouts, refunds, and disputes. Share My Pint receives transaction identifiers and status information but not complete card numbers. Privacy Policy
  • Sentry (Diagnostics): Receives production error events, stack traces, app-session health, and performance traces, together with device, operating-system, app-version, and network context associated with those events. We do not describe these reports as anonymous. Privacy Policy
  • Expo (Push Notifications & Updates): Delivers push notifications and over-the-air updates. Privacy Policy

4.2 Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data:

  • With service providers who assist in operating the App
  • When required by law or to protect our rights
  • In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets

5. Data Security

We use technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect personal information, including:

  • Encryption in transit (TLS/SSL)
  • Row-level security policies
  • Secure authentication tokens

However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.

6. Retention and Deletion

We retain information while it is needed to operate the App, protect users, comply with law, or resolve disputes. In particular:

  • Account and social data remain while the account is active, unless you delete particular content earlier.
  • A post-removal request hides the post immediately and queues its related stored image and relational row for verified background deletion. Completion may take longer if retry or manual review is required.
  • An account-deletion request deactivates the account immediately. Permanent deletion becomes eligible after the stated seven-day grace period and may complete later if storage deletion, retries, legal retention, safety review, or financial review is required.
  • Age-verification records include the submitted date of birth, device identifier, IP address, user agent, verification threshold, and timestamps. They are retained for age-assurance and abuse-prevention purposes and are not represented as automatically erased with an unrelated post deletion.
  • Direct-support payment, refund, and dispute records are retained as needed for transaction integrity, fraud prevention, accounting, legal obligations, and dispute resolution. Account deletion may pseudonymise the App's user link while Stripe and legally required financial records remain subject to their applicable retention periods.

7. Your Rights

7.1 Access and Portability

You can access and export your data through the App's settings (Privacy & Data > Export My Data) or by contacting us.

7.2 Account and Data Deletion

You can delete your account and associated data through the App's settings (Account > Delete Account). You can also request account or data deletion by contacting office@sharemypint.com and including the email address associated with your account. Some data may be retained as required by law, safety, fraud prevention, or legal compliance.

7.3 Correction

You can update your profile information at any time through the App.

If you are in the European Union, you have additional rights including:

  • Right to access
  • Right to rectification

  • Access your personal information
  • Request deletion of your personal information
  • Not be discriminated against for exercising your rights

8. Age Restrictions

The App is intended for users of legal drinking age in their respective jurisdiction. For the current all-country, US-compatible submission path, the in-app age gate requires users to be 21 or older. We verify user age during registration and may request additional verification. We do not knowingly collect personal information from users under the required age.

9. International Data Transfers

The service providers listed above may process information in countries other than your own. The protections that apply depend on the provider, processing location, contract, and applicable law. Contact us if you need information about a particular transfer.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by:

  • Posting the new Privacy Policy in the App
  • Updating the "Last updated" date
  • Sending an email notification for significant changes
